I have quite nice teeth but I find they stain easily and when I look in the mirror (paricularly car mirror for some reason) my teeth don't have the real white healthy look that I like.

I was wondering what your views were on whitening them? I hear whitening doesnt last very long? It's hard to admit it but i'm a very self conscious person and lately I have been looking at my teeth an awful lot in the mirror :o:o

Yes tooth whitening is a excellent way to improve your smile without cutting into your teeth. However like everything in dentistry there are good methods and bad ones. Results are variable. Do some research and best get at home bleaching to start its superior to so call "laser" whitening.

I have had a good look through different websites and the results seem quite good. I have seen stained teeth 10 times worse than mine look really good after the whitening. It seems very cheap aswell? is it wise to go for a cheap option?

If I remember correctly, My father got it done a few years ago for somthing like 100 euro..

Having got professional advice from my dentist, I started bleaching my teeth last year and I'm delighted with the results. The kit I got has twelve syringes which are used with a moulding the dentist took of my teeth. You need to bleach every couple of weeks to keep the teeth white. The kit I got will be usable for two years.

Word of advice: if you're going to do it, do it properly. Go to a dentist. Don't look for the cheap option online. You only have one set of teeth- look after them. A botched whitening job can leave irreparable damage. Once teeth enamel is gone, it's gone forever, not to mention the physical pain of releasing too much peroxide onto your teeth. Don't take a chance.

A dentist once told me the cheap option is no good. It wears away soon and is only for people who need a quick, cheap fix for weddings, etc.

I should have rephrased that. I meant to say what is the general price of getting my teeth whitened?
