Hey all. Just looking for advice. I'm prone to muscle injuries in my back. In the past I've got treatment in the past from tens machine, well it would be a lot stronger then the average one you can buy. Anyway I found the results fantastic. I'd be a new woman coming out.
Today for the first time I got a sports message on a strained muscle on my back and as of yet it's still quiet sore. Gift from a friend, otherwise probably would av got the electrical stimulator again.
Have any of ye any advice on which is better.
I'm training for the Dublin city marathon.
    Tks in advance guys.

My advice would be to give the sports massage a little more time before making a judgement. I normally would advise people that they may be sore for anything between 24 and 48 hours.

The use of a TENS machine is supposed to be for pain management rather than a solution. Personally (although this may be a bias opinion) my preference would to to go to a therapist to try and ascertain the cause of the issue in order to not only treat the pain but to aim to tackle the problem on a more long term basis.

In my experience dry needling works best on muscle. I tend to like a sports massage followed by needling. What is peoples opinion on the needling?

I have found dry needling to work much quicker followed by a massage on the area 2-3 days later.
