Suggested headphone in the 250-300 euro price range

Looking for a good quality headphone for my android phone and laptop for movies, music etc. Not bothered by fashion or appearance so Beats are out :) I think I'd prefer the headband type rather than in-ear type and with low noise leak for some privacy. Have been doing some research on-line and the V-moda M-80 or M-100 seem to be very decent, as well as the Sony MDR-1R but I am no expert at all. Music I listen to is very mixed, from classical to acoustic, metal, indie etc. I do like a nice deep bass but nothing too heavy that it overpowers the mix. Any suggestions?

Really? What if I also purchase a headphone amp, would that improve the sound?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ultrasone-PRO-900-Headphones/dp/B001F00F0E falls just within your price range at the moment, they're normally a lot more expensive.
I bought a set a few years back after reading http://www.head-fi.org/t/527451/ultrasone-pro-900-appreciation-thread

They don't require an amp and can be driven easily by a phone, but it will help if you do wish to upgrade down the line.

Cheers for that, they look excellent but bass may be too much? As much as I love bass, I hate it when it sounds muddy. How do you find them through a smart phone? I have a galaxy s2 which has a notoriously crappy DAC and am wondering, as the previous poster stated, am I spending too much on something I won't get the full benefit from.

The dac in the S2 isn't the bet, I've only tried mine with an iPhone 4 and 5 which have decent ones.
The headphones will outlast your phone, so while you may not get the benefit now, you will when you eventually upgrade.

I have them and really enjoy them, just wish I had the coiled cable from time to time.

That was my biggest gripe and mainly why I got rid of them. The S cable was just too much for my needs! Didn't feel comfortable splicing it either!
