    Hi Folks,

Trying to decide between two road shoes atm.

    Louis Garneau Carbon HRS-2

    or

Diadora Speedracer 2 Carbon Road Shoes

Does anyone have either, opinions, how is the sizing for you.

I think I am leaning towards the Louis Garneau as they seem a better shoe, but I am not sure of sizing as I am a 46 in normal shoe and 47 in old DHB's, but they only have 47 left and apparently they are not that tight fitting.

Are there any other shoes I should consider. Budget is €100ish and I'd like a stiff carbon sole.

    Cheers.

I just got a pair of Bont Riot shoes from Ribble for £90 with code XTRA10. I already have another pair of bonts and love them but like any shoe some people don't get on with them.

I've tried both on in CRC.
Both are a quality well made shoe.
Much the same comfort wise, the Garneau might shade it looks wise.
I'd be wary of buying shoes on the net due to sizing, unless you order two pairs in different sizes and send the wrong ones back!
You could always take a trip up to CRC and see both if that's feasible?

Thanks, its seems good enough for the price, but the aesthetics don't work for me.

As we all know shoes are 50% look 50% comfort :)

Out of interest, how is the sizing, did you go one up?

Yeah I went 1 size up, I have had a pair of bont vapour shoes for the last year and they certainly fit tight for size. Initially when I got them I thought I might have to go two sizes up but it took a bit of time getting used to the way the stiff sole extends around the foot.
The main advantage I find is with the more anatomical shape of the toe box that area of my foot is more comfortable. Previously I had problems with some shoes being too narrow for me in that area yet when I tried a wide size the shoe was too big in other areas.

Well they only have the one size for me on both shoes, so I'll have to take a punt, the worst is I loose €10 on postage.

How were they size wise, particularly the Garneau? Did you go a size up?
