We have an 80 foot well on the home farm that has been idle for a couple of years ( pump cracked in the frost). Has anyone installed one lately and what sort of money are we talking about

Put in a 3/4HP submersible 3 years ago...
I think the pump was ~€350 if I can remember right..

Have same problem but with different type of well water is coming gravity to the house but little pressure. Any recommendations for pump to push on the water and get it to higher ground

Our house has a unit fitted on the water intake point. It holds 40galons and has a submersible pump fitted. something like that would do your job.

If its not for domestic use:
    45galon barel, clean and steralise.
Fit a ball cock and an overflow.
Lidl have a shallow well pump in this weeks mag. 1100W, 3 bar pressure, pressure switch, 45m head height and 3 year warrenty, all for just €70.
Would make a good booster system for little money.
Would need to be set up indoors to protect from frost.

I have it inline to a house. Turn on a tap and it comes on, turn it off and it goes off. water runs out and it goes off so as not to burn itself out.

Check some of the uk sites for cheaper prices. Bought mine off ebay uk and had it delivered free to Parcel motel for €250. It was brand new!

In my situation we had an over ground pump with a vessel, I was quoted 1000 to replace the pump with a one horse power pump and pressure vessel. It seems quite expensive would I be better off with a submersible?.

we put in a new submersible 11 years ago,our first submersible, and i have not seen it since,i would never go back to a over ground pump.

New submersible here 20 months now, would not go back either, with an overground we would have had the plumber out twice by now.

A little dearer but a lot more reliable and less electricity used too.

Would this pump be any good for watering drinkers. For say 30 cows.

What kind of pump (submersible / over ground) would you recommend? price/cost/retailer? Filters?

my pump is a pedrollo i think, was told they were good? havent seen it since it went down a couple of years ago, i think the above ground ones are more prone to burnout.

all these pumps are stainless steel are they?

otherwise there would be a rust problem

I plan on taking water from a well using a submersible in to a storage vessel (any suggestions for 100 dairy cows?). Water needs to be pressurized to feed dairy plate cooler and far away troughs. Any suggestions?

well thats the standard set up, pump is connected to a pressure vessel which come in various sizes.
