We got a mechanic to fit a mounting bracket( it holds the gears linkages in place I think) on a 2007 207 hdi on Saturday that was damaged in an accident so fitted a brand new genuine one,
Drove it home a few mile yesterday and was fine but today when I went to start it I cant get any gears and is grinding to get into reverse.
To move it about I have to switch ignition off, put in gear first then switch on again.
Mechanic is on holidays in Spain for a week so no use to me now

    Ta

Is clutch pedal still coming up from floor?
Possibly the clutch itself. Dont drive like that unless needed.you'll kill the starter

Spring fallen out and loose between the clutch plates would be a good guess.

When you are in First with the engine running and the clutch fully down, is the car still pulling forward?
