Looks like i got a job in clonmel and will be commuting from Waterford daily. Its about 50KM each way (45 Mins). I will need to get a better car then the one i have. Any recommendations? I'm thinking Diesel and Comfort, have a budget of around 10K max

What kinda size car are you thinking. Comfort is relative.
How much would you spend on tax?

Thanks Colm, i like the opel insignia but not sure if i would get a decent one for 10K, but something along those lines. i dont mind spending money on tax if i am saving in the purchase price if that makes sense

I doubt you'd get a decent insignia tbh.

This might sound a little left of field but it's what I'd be doing...

If I got a new job, I'd want a cheaper comfortable economical car to do that commute. Why spend €10k when you don't have to? :D

Take €2k and you're laughing, something like this perhaps

    Or maybe this

Knock a few hundred off and you have a seriously nice comfortable motor with NCT and TAX until 2014. It appears to do near 48mpg too. :)

That's what I'd be looking at anyway!

I would get a toyota. depending on the size you want. the toyota avensis is quite large while the toyota auris is not too small but a comfortable size. toyotas are made for comfort. and they are very reliable

the auris are a poor car by any standards and aren't that reliable. The avensis might not be a bad bet though for the op.
