Have an 8880. Steering acting up lately. When the tractor is turned off and parked up, you can still easily turn the steering wheel. It shouldn’t do this as the steering mechanism is run off the pump. What you ye think the problem might be?

What is it like when it is running?

slower response to steering effort...find myself turning the wheel for longer to get the direction in want to go in. Steering still smooth. Tractor steady

Have you to put more physical effort into steering it?

Sounds like the pump to me, have you checked the oil level etc.

did you check the fluid levels, ?

I think the resovoir is on the right hand side in front of the radiator , there is also a filter inside the container

other than that it could be the pump itself
