Leap Card or Weekly Ticket?

    Hey folks,

I've recently moved back to Maynooth to start work in the City Centre and I'm just trying to work out my 'ticket options' when it comes to commuting. Obviously, I'd want to get the most from my money, especially when getting the train from Maynooth to Connolly (return) five days a week.

I've been looking into Leap Cards, but to be honest, the whole thing is melting my brain!

Can any kind soul out there please tell me whether I'd be better off with the Leap Card, or would a weekly ticket serve me better!

    Cheers!

Weekly ticket for Maynooth City Centre is €32.50.

Unlimited travel for a week on all rail services in the Short hop zone is €37

Leap card for 5 return journeys would be €33.00

Leap the 7 day fare for unlimited travel is €35.50 and is applied automatically based on your travel undertaken so if you have a 4 day week €26.40 would be charged, 33 euro for a 5 day week, but never more than €35.50 regardless of how many journeys taken (i.e go to Bray on the weekend)

Student tickets are cheaper than adult. If your employer takes part in www.taxsaver.ie the monthly and annual tickets can make sense.

I get 2 months free per year on the tax saver scheme for my employer paying up front for an annual ticket. It is pretty damn great!
