Where abouts in the country are you? Athlone looks a lovely course and 40 euro would defo cover it. Ballinrobe in mayo another beautiful course. Connaught parkland of the year last year I think.

Yep, would help to know where you are and roughly what way you're looking to go. Beaufort in Kerry, Rathcore in Meath, Portumna in Galway, Portarlington in Laois, Concra Wood in Monaghan... the list goes on.

Beaufort in Kerry is €20 every Friday.
I am going to Waterford for a few days in August is there similar offers there?

Have you played Bunclody Lester? Class course, you should get out for €35 mark, think they've open singles Wednesdays for €25. You'd definitely enjoy it

Bunclody for sure. Rosslare do an very cheap deal and throw in lunch for 30-35 I think on weekday.

I really like the course too, very underated links imo.

Faithlegg have similiar but not sure on what day
Then you have the 3 dungarvan clubs, always great value

If you want to go Wicklow direction, Druids Heath is 30 euro before 9.00, and 35 after that.

I absolutley love this course, some say it's too difficult, but I found it the most enjoyable day of golf I had all year, and I've played some crackers this year, a real test of shotmaking and imagination, was just fun to play.

Mount Wolsley is nice but "on a par with Mount Juliet" it is not. Not too many parkland courses in Ireland are to be fair though.

I know you have golf sorted for this week, but if you are on a road trip on a Thursday then look no further than Lahinch. It's €10 more than you suggested you would spend but it is worth every cent. Open singles there every Thursday for €50.

Fota have open singles every day the open is on aswell this week and are only charging €35, well worth a shout.

Mount Juliet is very special and tough.
Dooks in Kerry would be my recommendation you should be able to get it for about 50euro if you ring the pro shop for an early or late tee time.
Its the most enjoyable course I have played this year and have played The K Club, Mount Juliet, Portmarnock, Druids Glen.

The day I played Dooks I have a guy that plays off 18 and had never played Links golf before with me. He was blown away and I felt like I have been somewhere really special. Can't rate it highly enough.

Great morning had in mount woseley, great challenge really enjoyable course. Had 97blows & 30pts only 13 of those on the bck 9 had 3pars a birdie & 4blanks . Paid 30e will def be bck for a ssf comp only 25e next comp 7/8/13. Greens are fantastic the fairways pretty burnt at this stage but overly top track.

I must say I don't get all this love for Dooks. I love links golf but Dooks just doesn't appeal to me. I mean it is definitely not worth the money they quote on their website. Enniscrone & Carne both charge less (Last time I checked) and both are streets ahead of Dooks IMO.

Nice course, been a few years since I played it. Liked the course but always got the impression it had ideas above its station. Don't get me wrong, its a great course but its not a patch on Mt. Juliet as I see someone compared it to.
