OK i lost the key of my 2008 opel astra 1.7cdti,
i only had the one but can not find it at all.
Anyway i see full keys including remotes etc on Ebay cheap...
I think all i need to do is get a new blade cut.
THEN Is it possible to reprogram keys chip and the remote of another vehicle to suit my own
    Thanks.............

I doubt you will be able to reprogram your key of someone else's car that wouldn't make any sense as the key is programed to your car so it won't work with any other cars. I'd be weary of buying keys of ebay there cheap for a reason and some are just literally a blade and cover nothing inside which is no good to you.

If I was you I'd start by ringing an Opel dealer they would order the key from your reg and then programme it to your car. You could then get a quote from autokey or some other locksmith that can programme keys. I'd be surprised if it doesn't cost you at least 300 euro for the whole lot unfortunately.

I think the chip can only be coded once so couldnt use them but could buy them on Ebay but i am not sure whether the remote can be reprogrammed

Ring auto key, they'll answer all your questions

did ring a few and they are expensive, they wouldnt want you trying to source bits and doing most of it youself, they want the job and charge hefty for it....
i can get my hands on the op com and believe it can code in the key for me

    Wrong.

Chip can be coded as many times as you want. :)
