Cows chasing something

Just wondering if anyone has seen cows gathering together and chasing after something.
Was out not to long ago shooting and seen them chasing something in the long grass.
To me it looked like a fox but I couldn't make it out. Just a quick flash of something brown. I asked the farmer and he said it could've been a young deer.
Would cattle gather up and chase a fox or a deer??

Cows with calves will chase away a dog or fox or similar.

Friesan bulls will chase anything that moves.

Was told there is a wasp/bee that goes around in warm weather and they go mad if they hear this buzzing they run around with their tales in the air and would go through any fence. Seen it happening here a good few times this week now.

Christy Moore mentioned them in Joxer goes to Stuttgart. Gad flies he called them.

Maybe that's why he went :D Driven demented.

If I remember right, it was compulsory to do them once for Warblefly. I think when Ivermectin came along then, they got rid of the law. An inspector had to be present too when you were doing them. Or am I dreaming?

    WARBLE FLY

Warbles manifest themselves as bumps rising on the backs of cattle from mid-February until the fly emerges between April and June. Herdowners must notify any infestation and may not move infested cattle without a certificate of treatment. There has been no evidence of warbles in the domestic herd in recent years, but they may be found in imported cattle and this may result in spread requiring area treatment. Responsible importation protects the herd: buy only from a reputable source and inform your DVO of any intended importations

Folks I caught a glimpse of what they were chasing looked like a small deer or a fox in the long grass.
Not saying that they were randomly running around.

Have seen cattle chase a deer, basically they will chase anything that runs from them when they approach it, saw them chase a lad in after rabbits one time, funniest thing I'd seen for years, saved me having to do it! :D

Could have been baby hares. There are loads of hares around me and I often see small ones in long grass at this time of year. I have seen cattle looking and following them before and was curious to find out. They keep really low hard enough to see them
