Not looking lot break the bank here, just looking for something for myself to drive around in ! Reliability would be really important for me as I have no clue ! What's people thoughts on a car-van ? Positives / negatives ?
Cheers all ! Really appreciate any input here

Test drove an 08 fiesta van a few years ago before I got the golf. Utterly horrible car.
Plasticy feel and horrible drive. It just felt cheap, there are better cars on the road.

I think you get charged more at tolls than a standard car so it will be necessary to carry change with you all the time to avoid the cashier.

depends on type of van, mine for example just has blacked out windows so looks like 3 door will go through as a car

There's a civic 2.2 converted to a van on donedeal, no way the lads on the barrier would cop it

In terms of car derived vans we've had a fair few corolla, megane, focus, astra, 306 all vans. I currently own a 07 focus van but had an astra before. Personally I think the best of all the car derived are the astra h 1.7. I personally wouldn't buy a 207 or fiesta just to small I wouldn't really buy anything smaller than a focus size.

But if you get a toll card or a video account you will be charged based on the taxation class

Coin basket? Doesn't work. I used to drive a carvan through the M3 toll on a regular basis and was charged as a van. Same on the M7 and M1
