I'm looking for a Nylon block or some similar plastic, but I dont know where I can source some?
about 1 cm square and 6-10cm long.

If I could scavenge some existing item for a lump of plastic I would but I cant think of anything that would be a suitable size.

Not sure what you need it for, but plastic kitchen chopping boards can be exactly 1 cm thick and are pretty strong and dense.

    cheers, never thought of that
Im trying to make an elongated shim, dont want it too brittle
plus I dont want it to absorb moisture or expand, so wood is out.

    I think that might do

An engineering shop will have offcuts a plenty from where they turn and CNC cut large nylon and plastic blanks into toolings and other items.
