i have a msi z77a-g43 motherboard. i got a new ssd. one of the samsung 840 pro series ones. i have installed windows on it as my primary hard drive and im putting as much stuff as i can on it.

does it matter which sata port i connect it to?
do i have to use a special sata cable or will the standard cables do?

    thanks

Connect it to one of the white SATA ports, they are the SATA III ports on that motherboard. The black ports are SATA II.
