    Hi there,

Brick vs Block for a single storey house extension (20sqm) - what are the pros / cons? Is there much of a price difference.

    Thank you,

    GW

can you give a list of your priorities for your home extension ?

    ill start you off
    1. light
    2. function/space
    3. form/look
    4. materials
    5. thermal
    6. weathering
    7. cost
brick looks good, but is more expensive to detail right over block

With a modest budget...bright and spacious, well insulated, good weather resistant quality, modern looking

I would councel for the use of brick. Get a nice brick and sit back and enjoy as it ages like a good wine,no painting every few years. Think long term.
