Looking to build a cheap winter bike.

Single speed. Capable of taking at least 28mm tyres (and potentially cx tyres).
need clearance for mud guards also.
    Please recommend cheap frames.

    Thats all thanks.

    On-one Pompino

Or if you want a more upright/flat bar build, a Vitus Vee One.

Personally, I'd prefer the Pompino or a Charge, but the missus has a Vee One 29" and it's a great (fun) bike for short commutes when she doesn't notice.

Looking at building something similar. Pompino will take a 35 mm tyre apparently. Mudguards, rack. Canti or v brakes. Coming in about 220 delivered with fork. 120 mm spacing on rear. Surly cross check was another one i was looking at. Can be run ss or geared. Cotic roadrat was another geared/ss frameset. Pompetimine is like the pompino but woth 135 mm spacing and will take disks.

Nice! Looks a good price too.

I was all set to buy the Day one with Alfine hub, the bright orange one. Looks like the ultimate commuter/winter bike.
