Define "central", define "cheap", define "hotel". Doubt if you'll get all three, but it depends what you're after.

Try Trip Advisor for a start: http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotels-g187147-Paris_Ile_de_France-Hotels.html

was a bit vague there alright, am there for 3 nights and hoping for
somewhere between 2-300, for myself and my girlfriend, neither of us
are fussy over high end places, just clean and a bed.
looking for somewhere witth easy access to main tourist attractions, via metro or walking distance

The comfort inn andre Latin on rue gay lussac in the Latin quarter, almost always stay there in Paris. Less than 5 mins from Luxembourg RER and walking distance to The Pantheon and Notre Dame among other sites of interest.

Sorry am on my phone, can't post a link

If you can book an apartment much more fun and a wide range of locations also cheaper than alot of hotels!

We stayed here before & it's grand, 2min walk to the Champs-Elysees & Arc de Triomphe, the metro underneath it will get you wherever you wish to go
If flying Ryan Air, it's also close enough to where the bus drop / pickup is, couple of metro stops from memory

Smallish rooms but spotless, would stay there again

    Decent reviews on tripadvisor

Location is excellent, 5 minutes walk to Opera house and bus to CDG Airport. It is directly behind the main shopping areas, Printemps/ Gallerie Layfayette etc. within walking distance to all attractions etc. and surrounded by choice of Metro lines/bus routes. If travelling with Ryanair, and using metro to reach this hotel from bus park you will need to catch 2 trains with transfer at Franklin Roosevelt
