I out in the sun with my mobile for a while and went to check my phone and its said temperature to hot to use, wait to cool down.

Is this not a little strange, for the sun to stop a mobile working.

Are you using the beta? If the CPU is working hard then it can get too hot. Were you playing games or anything?

I'm sure( from memory) that the operating temp is 35 degrees, so there is a good chance the phone got a bit too hot in the sunlight!

My brother had that a few weeks ago on his Iphone. Suppose black case and direct sunlight not a great mix.

It's a safety feature. It turns off if it gets too cold as well, though you don't get a warning.

The iPhone isn't like a regular mobile phone that makes calls and texts. It's a smartphone and can get pretty hot just doing CPU intensive tasks. But unlike a computer it doesn't have a fan to cool itself off.
