Trying to value my left hand drive

Long story short, I want to sell my wife's left hand drive 2005 Peugeot 206. It's a 1.4HD diesel, 105,000km, clean interior. I ran a search on similar 206 on car zone and prices are in the region of €4k-€5k.

Anyone have any ideas on what value I should put on this as a left hand drive?

Put an ad in your local Polish shop. If the price is right it will sell, it isn't nearly as expensive to import a car into Poland and register it as it would be to here.

Yeah i would be looking to sell that abroad tbh, no (or very very little) market for an LHD city car here imo.

You'll have problems selling it on any website abroad IMO, too cheap and it will scream scam.

It's funny you mention this, I have the exact opposite issue, I am trying to get a LHD for the mother in law but have found them to be completly over priced, 97s for 2k plus, There is a Smart on Donedeal for 2k, a German colleague offered my his for much less from the office in Germany saving me the boat costs etc.

206 is a little too unremarkable. I've known people to buy LHD estates when moving abroad, as they have an Irish-insured car while they settle in and something to lug stuff over.

That said, if someone is looking for one, they will find it. You can put it up there priced a little bit less than the RHDs, to attract attention, but no-one is going to buy it for the discount on offer.

    Is it a 3 or 5 door?

    That would make huge difference.

5 doors being more sought after

i am a little surprised at the comments, though peter Dublin is, i.m.o., right.
i work abroad quite a bit and lhd cars by and large fetch higher prices as they can be sent all over the world.

I have often looked at UK lhd sites and find e.g. an 02 zafira will be double the price of a rhd one.

depending on which country the intending purchaser is shipping the car to ,there can be complications, like undergoing an NCT(or whatever) first.
For an Irish person who wants to use it abroad on successive holidays this should be of interest.

I would be surprised if you get that price though.

I might have an interest if it does not sell easily.

I just did a search on leboncoin.fr , plenty of them from dealers at 4 to 5 k euro., but a potential french buyer has to ship yours , test it , re reg it and no warranmty, so i guess your at 3,500 max(from a french point of view)

But if it's going for export there will be vrt refund here as well for the OP.

When i worked in a main dealer, we priced the car as per normal.

    Then knocked 50% off.

Forgetting all the annoyances for an owner of a LHD (think toll boths, overtaking etc etc), Insurance companies here will give you a wide berth or a loading for it being LHD.

VRT refund would be €450, except revenue have a €500 admin fee so it doesn't qualify.
