Hello all, afeter a few years away from Ivy covered halls I am returning to a MSc in UCD this september. I know this is a long shot, but is there any kind of grant aid available for Masters courses? I am under the impression that there is not, but I would like to be proved wrong!

I would also like to know if there is, I'm thinking of doing a masters at some stage too. I did hear a girl on the radio today say she had applied to SUSI to fund her masters, but she is still waiting for the money!

There are 2 ways postgraduates may qualify for assistance under the Student Grant Scheme. They may either:

1.Get a new flat rate fee contribution of €2,000, if they pass the fee contribution means test – see below

    Or

2.Get all their tuition fees paid and essential field trips (up to €6,270), if they meet the qualifying conditions for the special rate of grant for disadvantaged students – see below

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
