    Hi,

I am currently in Mexico (I'm Irish I left there in January) and I am returning next week. My girlfriend wishes to come with me (she's Mexican) and she will be coming the week after. She is hopinh to stay until November or December at the latest. What do we need for her to enter the country and to stay that long? Also she was hoping to seek employment (I know there is a recession), but even volunteer work as she is one year away from graduating as a Doctor and she wants to keep her kind fresh.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

    Regards,
    Fizzy

You're leaving things a bit late.

This lot are your best bet for advice.

There is work to be had here in the hospitality industry especially during the Summer months. Finding something related to her forthcoming qualification may be more difficult if she has not yet graduated, and she may be considered over qualified for work in nursing/care homes.

There is any amount of voluntary work available but if it involves working with vulnerable people, she will require Garda vetting and clearance. By the time this comes through she will probably have her own medical practice established back in Mexico.

There are however, countless community projects throughout the country who are glad of an extra pair of hands and new ideas.

    Best of luck.

Be best to check with the Irish Embassy before departure or call your local immigation officer here.

She will need to proove that she intends to go back to Mexico and has ties there Job/College is proof of that.

She will only be granted 3 months on arrival into Ireland. So she might need a visa to extend it.
