Do you mean inpatient treatment? Yes but it would be depression/anxiety that is causing a very severe impairment. For the most part, treatment for mental health difficulties is firstly in the community (e.g. appointments at health centre) or maybe a day programme. Services can differ depending on where you live also.

If you have concerns about your mental health, talk to your GP about your options. There is always help available and your GP will be well used to talking to people with the same queries.

Go to your GP immediately and speak to them.

Yes there are inpatient facilities. By way of an example Cluain Mhuire, run by St Johns of Gods have a stay in facility, but after an assessment from a GP and a consultation (free) with them.

Go to your GP, and post here if you have any questions or want some moral support! You're making a great step for yourself.
