Replacing a Faulty Credit Card (Additional Cardholder)

    Hi,

I have a Credit Card account and my wife has a 2nd card on that account as an "Additional Cardholder".

However my wife's card has developed a fault and now cannot be read in the Chip and Pin machines.  How can I get a replacement card for my wife and is it necessary to return both cards (mine and hers)?

Also - what is the average turnaround time for a replacement card, as we are due to travel abroad in 2 weeks time and will need to have the use of at least one of the cards.

    Many thanks in advance.

    George.

    Hi George,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

It is possible for an additional card holder to call to have their own card reissued. If your wife calls Credit Card Services on 1890 251 251/00353 56 775 7747 a representative will be more than happy to help with this request.

It depends on the type of account you have, whether both cards would need to be cancelled. If both cards display the same 16 digit card number then both will need to be cancelled and reissued. If this number is different on each card only your wife's card will need to be cancelled.

Once ordered the new card would be with you within 3-5 working days. As you do plan to use the card abroad, it would be worth having your dates of travel noted on your account. This can be requested when calling to request the replacement card.

Hope you have a safe trip.
    Tara
