    Hi guys
Just wondering if you are receiving social welfare, how much extra money are you allowed have without your benefits being stopped?? My mam died a few years ago and she never left a will so me and my 2 sisters deceided to put house up for sale and split money equally. we will be getting around 17-18 thousand each. Just wondering should i tell social or is it any of their buisness??

always better to be open in my opinion, however, I think the first 20k is disregarded when being means tested, sorry to hear about your mama

Definitely tell DSP. Different thresholds apply to different benefits. But for most payments, you should be ok if that is your only assets/cash.
