insurance due for renewal shortly, but currently have an open injury claim against my policy which hasn't been resolved yet. This means no company outside of who I'm with at the moment will quote me. Rang a few and no luck. Has anyone had any luck getting a quote from an insurance company where you have an open claim?

Also I am right in saying, that you can't be a named driver if you are the owner of the vehicle?

I know i mentioned them in another thread, so i must sound like a marketer. But try the likes of XS direct or other similar heavy Excess companies.

Im not even sure if the likes of XS Direct would take you on with an open claim, would they?

What do you mean by this? Unless your spouse is the policy holder then there is no way that you could be a named driver as nobody else could take out a policy on the vehicle.

Yeah generally speaking XS are a decent last hope option. Frighteningly expensive for a brutally bare policy, but it at least gives you a piece of paper to make the car legal!

In a nut shell. Havent used them myself but you can fault the prices for being able to drive on the road.
