Title Deeds from Bank - How long??

In the process of buying a house at the minute. I paid the booking deposit 11 weeks ago but still no contract yet as the seller is still waiting for the deeds from his bank. How long does it normally take to get the deeds from the bank??

If there is still debt owing against a mortgage for which these deeds are held the bank will release them to a solr, not the seller.

They could be still in the bank waiting on collection from the nominated solr or they could be sitting in a 'to do' pile in a solrs office.
