Hard to say. It will all depend on the active runway at EWR, the STAR and what side of the plane you are sitting on.

I got lucky a few years back and got a great skyline view on approach and departure.

Hopefully it will all work out and you'll get to see it.

Most likely arrive down the westside of Newark to stay away from LGA and JFK traffic with Manhattan off to the left. So seats on the left would be best. But that means you will only see land late on into the flight. Depending on the winds if you land on the 22s you will get good views from the left but if you land on the 04s you will only get views on downwind but would need then to be on the right. So it is going to be a hard one to call.

We are seated on the left, which is unusual for us as normally sit on the right, just have to wait and see :)

I have gotten some nice views in the past o JFK. As above it really depends on your landing runway, over which only the wind has control!

The best views I ever got were on approach into RWY04L....you land towards the North-East so the ppl seated at window seats on the left got to see the entrance to the harbour, Liberty island, Ellis Island and Manhattan as we more or less paralleled the East river.

That sounds like 22L landing 04 it would be on the 04R and everything would be on the right
