    Sorry to say that I do not have an 887, but an 870. Why choose the 887 over the 870?

    I cannot say enough good things about the 870. It is one of the best pump actions out there.

    Just a word of caution. Do your homework and don't think that it is necessarily better since it is newer. Don't think it inherits a lot, just because its lineage is in the 800's.

    Case in point, the Remington 700 is a great rifle, whereas the 770, I would steer clear.

    Carry it around the shop in your arms for half a hour before buying it first :D

    Its heavy even for a pump action.

    bought the 887 went for it because i liked the cammo have never heard anyone say a bad thing about the 870 so hope the 887 is the same

    Only picked up mine yesterday haven't got out with it yet. They are a little front heavy but I find it fine.
