Fas course

    At last I got picked to do a fas course.It's only 3 weeks but I'm glad to be doing something. Just wondering when the course is over will I have to reapply for the dole or will I automatically be put back on it? Thanks.

    I know you're allowed work for up to 6 weeks and just have your payment suspended rather than finished. I'd imagine it would be a similar situation for a 3 week FÁS course. Let them know your doing it and they'll sort it out for you.

    Hi, I work in this area and can say that this should* happen pretty much automatically for you, people do FAS courses all the time and DSP are well used to people finishing courses and switching back to jobseeker's. The only issue would be if someone's entitlement to benefit ran out while they were doing the course and they didn't satisfy the means test for jsa, as your course is just 3 weeks I imagine this is fairly unlikely though.

    *I never fail to be amazed at how FAS and DSP manage to get things mixed up (polite way of saying what I really want to say)
