What's the worst line and or delivery recent cinematic history?

I was just discussing this piece of dialogue with a friend.

It's from TDKR and at the time I remember thinking 'Where did that come from?'. It seemed so out of place and came from almost nowhere. Quite the conclusion for Daggett to reach based on Bane's betrayal. I also may have laughed a little when I first saw it.

The line is "You're pure evil!".

I find the delivery awful also.

Can anyone think of any other examples of bad dialogue or delivery or both?

    The Happening...... "What? No!"

Come on Marky Mark - you're so much better than this.

No competition for me...it has to be the terribly miscast Andie MacDowell's cringeworthy "Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed" line from Four Weddings and a Funeral.

    Ouch.

Star Wars prequels are full of them. eg.....

For Star Wars prequels it's a number of factors
    1) It's just bad dialogue on the page
    2) Lucas has most of the actors speaking in these weird stilted accents that appeared to be hindering their delivery
    3) The actors themselves don't sound like they believe (or at times even understand) what they're saying anyway.

At least in the original three movies (whilst not Shakespeare) there was a bit more zip and flow to the dialogue and the actors seemed to be allowed to deliver it more naturally in most places.

    ===

Regarding TDKR, I found that Matthew Modine had the worst deliveries. He was so bad it was almost like he thought he was in some different movie to the rest of the actors. IIRC when we first see him he's in a car chasing Batman and every word out of his mouth some really stupid soundbite that feels really disconnected with the rest of the scene.

Star Wars Prequels - so many bad lines, so little time.

My personal favourite - "Hold me like you did by the lake on Naboo" from Ep 3.

    It even reads weird.

Everything which Arnie uttered as Mr Freeze in Batman & Robin.

Although it might be in the so bad it's good category.

    "Ice to see you"

"Allow me to break the ice. My name is Freeze. Learn it well. For it's the chilling sound of your doom."

    "Cool Party"

    etc...

Thankfully that was the last we saw of Schumacher and Batman. Awful movies, awful awful scripts.

I can't find a video quote, but despite being one of my all time fav's, this was unacceptable:

    Shotgun SWAT: "That's not good"
Shotgun SWAT: "Ok, that's not good!"

Played by Nicky Katt, I actually thought maybe he had snuck onto the Dark Knight set and just decided to throw his own dialogue into the scene. It actually wouldn't have looked out of place in one of those MTV Movie Award spoofs.

It's supposed to be a frightening chase scene of destruction and carnage as the Joker mows down everyone in his path to get to Harvey Dent. You're terrified, you've watched some of your SWAT buddies get thrown into the river, now a helicopter filled with more colleagues has been shot down in front of you and he acts like some frat boy who just saw his team give away a penalty in the dying seconds of the big game.

It really threw me out of the movie. Bad line, but a f**king awful delivery. I'm amazed Nolan let it stand.

There's a fair bit of bad dialogue in 'Man of Steel but the 'This man is not our enemy' line is horrible.

I thought it was from the future The Asylum picture 'Male of Metal'

Good jebus...what about this sickener from Pearl Harbor:

Rafe: “You’re so beautiful it hurts.”
Evelyn: “It’s your nose that hurts.”
Rafe: “I think it’s my heart.”

I thought Batman saying "No... I came back to stop you!" in TDKR was a much worse line tbh.

John Barrowman in Shark Attack 3: Megalodon.

The line in this scene was improvised. Apparently, he just said it to try and get a reaction (any reaction) from the actress and it wasn't until he saw the final cut that he realised they left it in the movie.

    Another Star Wars prequels one.

"No, it's because I'm so in love with you."

    Just fucking die.

It's not actually a bad line: It was written by Joss Whedon and should have been just thrown out as a dead pan comedy line and would have been funny but instead........

I'd nominate the whole of In the Name of King of which I watched around half an hour of the other night on SyFy for dreadful delivery and a script that has to be heard to be believed.

Even in the trailer you can tell how crap it is going to be!
