Internal insulation behind gas (and wood burning)inset stove

I'd like to save space in the room but not sure if it would be a bad idea to put the inset stove directly against the wall and cut out that portion of the internal insulation. We also have a wood burning stove in the other room with the same decision to make. Our internal insulation is 92 mm.

Any advice? Would there be a significant cold bridge without the internal insulation in place? Would it impead the performance of the fire given the cold winters we can have??
