I would like to get my internal doors repainted in an off-white/cream colour, and got a price from a guy to spray them, but then I seen this in Lidl

    http://www.lidl-ni.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/SID-BD8D59E5-6AAF18EB/lidl_ni_ie/hs.xsl/index_31702.htm

and was wondering if they are any good, and could I do the job myself handily enough?

Anyone any experience of them? Or would you need to be buying a more expensive one to do a good job?

I used a similar model for outdoor use on wooden furniture for the patio and it worked quite well. The 2 complaints I would have are that the paint went on very thinly and rain washed some of it so that it was patchy looking after a few weeks and the container had to be refilled quite often. However the latter problem when weighed against the cost of getting someone else to do it is probably minor. The thin spread and rain would not come into the equation for an indoor job.

Ha if you spray your doors with that sprayer you'll be getting a carpenter in to hang new doors, that sprayer is only for garden furniture or fences, just a cheap handy diy job. The fella you got a qoute off probably using the likes of a HVLP sprayer to get a professional finish, it will use a variety of tips for spraying. Just get a few quotes and compare prices, What is he spraying the doors with oil based or two pack? If you definatley want them sprayed just go with a professional, if you just want them painted off white on the cheap just paint them yourself with a brush and sponge roller.

Thanks for that Henry, think I will go with the pro, his quote wasn't overly high anyway and I am sure he would do a much better job that me!
