Hi folks, looking for some advice here. 06 Yaris - viewed yesterday. No service history. 60K kms on the clock. No service history. No NCT cert ( the page detailing the test results )

Ran the motorcheck and returns no odometer readings. I take it the the NIMR database is compiled of data from dealerships whom would log data at service times ?

Car is NCTd until Apr 15 so tested recently, just before current owner purchased ( dealer had for 26 days according to the report ). Anyway to get a replacement NCT cert indication the Odo reading at time of test ?

Just wary of another clocked motor, as they seem to be everywhere these days. Why cant they link there online tests to the NCT centre Data:mad:

That's a hell of a lot of unanswered questions.

Walk away, there is presumably a better documented 06 Yaris knocking around

Exactly - countrys full to the brim with Yarises - so you can afford to be choosy and pick a decent one.

Does the car have to be a Yaris - they are great little cars - but if your in a hurry then its also worth considering the idea that a well minded Fiesta etc with full service history in excellent condition will still be better then a Yaris that's iffy.

    Thanks folks,

yeah, I guess I was just looking for confirmation on my thoughts. Will avoid. Please feel free to suggest / recommend.

5.5K budget. 1.4 MAX cc, bullet-proof reliability, very tidy, service history & NCT.

Grand little car - and I know they have a reputation for being more enjoyable to drive then a Yaris.

But are they as reliable - which is probably a big issue with the OP.

While the Mk1 Yaris was well known for being well built and reliable, I don't think the Mk2 from 2006 which I assume the OP was looking at, is that well built, the interior is cheap and nasty with mountains of plastic, and reliability was nothing special either.

The Swift is a very underrated car and always overlooked. I don't think they give any major problems.

    Cheers Bazz,

that was her first choice ( the Swift ). Dont know how I missed that one but it happens I guess. Yep, a very tidy swift would be right up her street. Have emailed the contact anyway as phone is off. Could be gone; we will see !

Mmm, same car here and has 80k miles listed:
    http://www.driving.ie/used-cars/Suzuki/Swift/1.3-GLX/36013693271186860/

and here it is again with lower mileage being sold privately:

    Sounds a bit sus.

Well to be fair to Suzuki - the older model Swifts going way back always seemed very reliable - never heard of anyone having a troublesome Swift and knew of a number of people who had more then one.

Wasn't sure how good the newer ones were - but if they are like the older ones - they should be very reliable.

With regard to Mk 2 Yarises - they aren't my fave car in the world - but I thought they were supposed to be pretty reliable.
