Soundproofing advice

I'm considering buying a soundproofing kit/foam blocks/rubber mat combination to reduce the noise from my bitfenix merc alpha. Has anyone here done anything like this? Or would the money be better spent on a new quieter case?

I would say the money would be better spent on a new quieter case however there may be easy ways to improve your current levels.

How many case fans do you have on the case? You can adjust any of the case fans speed through the bios or bios software if they are connected to the mainboard.

What grahpics card and processor do you have? What coolers are on them?

I have 4 case fans that are controlled by a fan controller
FX 6300 overclocked to 4.4GHz with a 212 evo cooler
Club 3D 7870 XT overclocked to 2000MHz this is making most of the noise I think.

    2000mhz? You mean 1200?

Have you changed the fan profile on the card at all? If your temps are ok you could relax the fan profile.

sorry 1200 sounds more like it don't know where I got 2000 out of! I have the fan on auto using msi afterburner so I'll play around with that later and see what temps I get
