South Dublin: Guitarist seeks musicians for original band (style/influences within)

I'm a guitarist currently looking for instrumentalists of all kinds to work on original material. While the final product may not be instrumental, I would like to write music first and if a vocalist is wanted or required, we can go about getting one at an appropriate time. Bass and drums will certainly be required but whether you play keyboards, saxophone, hang drum, oboe or whatever, feel free to get in touch if this ad tickles your fancy. King Crimson started when the non-singing, guitar-playing Robert Fripp answered an ad for a singing organist, so go on, take a chance!

As for the kind of music I wish to play, I don't wish to impose any restrictions at all, but the starting point would be somewhere between hard rock and atmospheric post-rock. If you're a fan of Tool, Pink Floyd, Russian Circles, God is an Astronaut, Sunn O))), Kyuss or Univers Zero, this may be for you.

It is most definitely worth pointing out that I will be returning to university in September so this will not be a full-time band for a few years yet, but what I would like to do is to recruit musicians to jam, write and record and gig when possible. I have some good contacts which I hope to avail of during and particularly after my studies. I envisaged writing music without vocals and then coming to a decision on whether or not a vocalist would be required. If we were to decide that vocals were wanted, all of the music would be written and waiting for someone to come along à la Maynard James Keenan and lay vocals over tracks which are solid enough to hold up instrumentally.

I'm completely open to letting the music go where it may but for now I'm envisaging the main elements as being heavy riffs, melodic atmospheric sections, and quite possibly a dark or brooding quality.

    About myself:
I am 28 years old and currently residing in South Dublin, close to County Kildare. I have my own transport and jam space and have previously gigged around Dublin and Ireland, as well as having co-produced two self-released albums with an previous band of mine.
I like to utilise various effects, though mostly I just use delay and a loop pedal for layering and atmosphere. Outside of music, I'm into science, literature, philosophy and chess.
