    Hi,
I bought this tablet before last christmas as a present. The user removed the microSD card, powered off the system and didnt use the tablet for about two weeks while on holiday. Now when it is turned on it is looking for a password. As far as we know it didnt have a password set and it never used to ask for one!. I tried starting in safe mode in case it was the norton anti theft app but it was the same. The shop that sold it said they wanted €30 to unlock it!. I cant afford that. Anyone know what to do?

    Weird...

Only thing I can think of is that maybe the SD card was/is encrypted by the end user with some form of extra software on the SD?

I personally have never seen an SD card with encryption but I have seen some USB keys that have extra password protection built-in as a software frontend...

Could it be a Norton password either?

(Not familiar with Android antivirus, never saw the need for one since 2.1 when they stopped malicious apps)

Thanks. I tried entering the norton password but nothing happened. I re-inserted the microSD card but nothing either. Tablet will go into safe mode but still looking for password so i dont think its the norton app. Its very frustrating!
