How long does it normally take for an age card to come? I've payed for the form and not got it yet, once I do anyone have any recent experience with how long it takes?

Also, how long does Passport Express take from the day you apply? need to renew mine. Going out next weekend so would like to not have any hassle going places :)

Oh please don't say that. I'll freak if most of my summer is ruined because I can't go out :/ Any other forms of ID I can get within 3 weeks?

Come on we've had a thread on the age card less than a week ago!

Try the Age Card Tracker if you want to see at what stage the application is at. This is where mine is at at the minute, should get it any day now!

    15 June 2013 Payment Received
18 June 2013 Application Form Posted to you.
26 June 2013 Application form received back from Garda station.
28 June 2013 Garda Age Card Dispatched

Grow a beard OP. Changes your youthful appearance to that of a lumber jack with many years of alcoholism behind them.

Even if you are a girl.

Much cheaper too :P Would much rather buy a crate and go to a house party but oh no it's too much effort for my friends :|

I'll tell you now as a bouncer you won't be getting in anywhere without an official Garda approved age card or passport ID, it's as simple as that. If you were to come to me without one of the forms of ID mentioned I would say to you "I am sorry Sir/Madame but I am going to have to refuse you admission, now go about your business elsewhere until you can show me the ID needed". Many of my friends in the bouncing business would be of the same nature. Cut your losses OP and find something to do for the week or two you're waiting (buy a console game, read a book, watch a DVD box set, etc..) No point in trying anything stupid, you'll end up regretting it.

Well the bouncer at my local let's 15 year olds in just because they have their tits out. Do you work at like a city bar or a small local? Just curious because this perticular bouncer is quite lenient and funny to have a joke with, but knowing my luck I wouldn't chance it without an ID card or passport. Only reason I got to know him was the night of my graduation had a few pints with him but that was based on buying a ticket to get in as it was school organised.

Jesus Christ, "well how come she could get in and I can't >:-(" c'mon.

The age card doesn't take too long, just chill out and relax, it won't take the entire summer and tbh if a few drinks in an overpriced club is the makings of a good summer, god love ya.

It's not, it's just not nice to be left out when all my friends go out, and I'm stuck at home bored off my tail.

How very rude of you to say such a thing! Go about your business in a wretched domain 'wretcheddomain' and be gone from here if you've nothing positive to contribute.

I had images of men in suits on space hoppers and bouncing castles.

As an Ex bouncer (did it part time- Never again) I believe it depends on the actual premises policy.

Me personally, yeah sure why not.

Mutley18 I'd like to apologise and offer yourself and Dasterdly a pigeon as compensation. Incompletely forgot about this popular and sufficient form of ID. I take all responsibility in that forgetting to mention the 'drivers licence' was no ones fault but my own.

    Sorry!

    Sorry!

Wooooooaaahh there... Is that a climb down from his lofty position of power by a bouncer?

    Disclaimer: Huge Generalization
