    Anyone following this?

According to Loeb it is not much of challenge as he has the best car. Apparently he is targeting to go below the 9 minutes mark:eek:

    Live stream here

    He should start at 17h45

IMO.....Wont be a true world record,as pikes peak is getting more and more tarmac surface as the years go by.

The 2 american commentators are idiots.

Typicial loud mouths who dont have a clue, they dont even know the coarse and where Loeb is on it

Can't wait to watch the full uncut onboard of Loebs run up Pikes Peak

Ari Vatanen in a Peugeot in the late 80's, watch it in 720p, looks much more of a challenge with the ropey surface back then. Awesome short film.

Fair play to Loeb on smashing the record for the Peak. Someday I hope to compete there myself but unfortunately it will be in a much lesser class than loebs.

I don't think people realize exactly how much momentum theses vehicles carry. The front diffuser would have cut that dude's feet clean off.

The old and the new.......side by side on Pikes Peak.:)

is it not a bit hollow now that it's all tarmac.
OK it's still a fantastic time and great to watch but comparing it to older records is a bit stupid.

So what now for Loeb after this........

Back to the mundane/drab world of WRC???

I agree, especially after looking at the onboard footage.

    Climb dance it is not.

6 minutes 47 seconds and Loeb is bouncing the engine off the rev limiter.

So tarmac from start to finish.

Sorry but thats not the real Pikes Peak to me.

Dot get me wrong, its a great car and a great time and still takes balls of steel, but its just not the real Pikes Peak to me.

I don't know what he will be doing for the remainder of the year, but he will be competing in the WTCC next year with Citroen.

WTCC is quite easily the most boring racing series on this planet. Its the very definition of a procession!

I agree. Watched a race a few years back and it was dreadful. Didn't help that it was at the Hungaroring either.

The WTCC is so bad that even I can barely watch races in it...I still do but that's just because I can't control my racing addiction. Thankfully most of the season clashes with good racing so it's not much of an issue but the opening race of the year and Macau always get a view

Another thing about the WTCC is that the BTCC kicks it's arse.
