Internal strip window (like a hatch between rooms) - anyone know who can design/build

    Hi,
Between our kitchen area and our sitting room we're thinking of putting a small strip window (above sink), just to have a visual connection. I'd like this window made with a nice timber frame so it looks well both side.
Maybe even have it in sliding glass so it can be opened.
Its only about 1 meter wide by 30cm high.

We have no idea who to approach with our idea. Any advice?

If it's a stud partition between rooms the best person to get in would be a carpenter. If it's a blockwork wall then a blocklayer would be your best option. But that's just to actually do the job. You would first need to speak to an Arch/Arch-Tech/Engineer to check whether the wall is loadbearing or not and whether there are any specific design cryteria to be accounted for, pipework, electrics, lintel, etc.

Its a block wall with the opening already made. Its really more a question of how to design the window and perhaps put little shutters on it for privacy, if or when desired.

Any good joinery will make up what you are looking for.

One of these threads is enough.
