Just wondering which would people consider their favourite night of the week to go on the beer? Mine is sunday night even tho i work monday to friday. People out on a sunday night just seemed to be more chilled out and relaxed imo.

Depends on where I'm going. Drinks are pretty cheap in Club Hell/O'Reilly's Bar on a Saturday so i'd be up to going there on Sat. I remember Fibber McGees used have cheap drink on Tuesdays so i'd go there on Tuesday NIghts, but haven't been there since New Years Eve 2011, so don't know what the prices are for drink. Ordinarily though, I just prefer a few drinks then the local. Doesn't really matter what night.

You're implying by telling us 'to Friday' that you're left hungover for 5 whole days. Surely it was sufficient just to tell us Monday, but maybe you do have a 5 day hangover.

Monday or Tuesdays, laid back enough with not so many idiots out on the tiles

And a lot of student girls, with a degree of class that's what I need to be aiming at... class; not so much students.

This times 10! Monday is an easier night to hook up than any other.

Lol @ the losers in this thread.

If you want to hook up with someone then just ask them via Facebook and meet them.

I've never had a drink on a Saturday night in Ireland since I was nineteen. I just don't get it. Sunday is the best day of the week, why waste it with a hangover?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 92 ✭✭Whatnuclearsub

Every night has its own use, Wednesdays are good for open mic nights, Thursdays for student deals, Fridays for Bands, Saturdays for wild nights out and Sundays for a quiet pint and to recap what happend during the week. Mondays and Tuesdays are for recovering!

You're a virgin, you cannot talk about 'hooking up' with any kind of authority.

I live in Killarney and Monday night is my favourite. Game of cards and a few pints after, nice and handy. Wouldn't dream of going out on Saturday, way too messy for my liking.

Thursdays in Palace or Dtwo definitely! I used to like Mondays but Karnival moved from the lost society and it just isn't the same anymore :/

Just shows how you can get people completely wrong, I never realised that you were a college girl.

Please tell me where all these Monday night single ladies be at, cause I haven't seen any difference between Monday nights and any other nights for chasing tail.

11.20 on a Monday night is the best time for the first pint of the weekend.:)

Strictly a weekend drinker myself. Start on Saturday, end on Friday. Best way to control things really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,462 ✭✭✭✭WoollyRedHat

Depends really. In terms of practicability, Friday, Saturday are the handiest, because there is no nite link on a Wednesday or Thursday which is absolutely ****...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,349 ✭✭✭✭starlit

    Friday or Saturday night.

Tuesdays Thursdays can be good nights. Sunday if a bank holiday.

"Nights ouh" are piss poor. You pay enormous amounts of cash just to get rejected several times and then stumble home.

I thought the nite link ended like a year or 2 ago?

    Nope, it's still going.

Saturday is my favourite night, but actually I'm starting to find Thursday nights are catching up, mainly because they tend to involve live music as opposed to recorded (there's something about a live gig which still can't be matched IMO, and Saturdays tend to have far fewer of them)

It only runs on Friday and Saturday now which is a pain. In particular, why they refuse to run nitelinks on bank holiday Sunday is something I will never understand, it's ridiculous.
HOWEVER... Depending on where you live, there's Finnegan's bus on a Thursday night which leaves Grafton Street at about 3.15 and takes the N11 to Bray. I live in Sandycove and I tend to hop off at Foxrock Church before walking down to Glenegeary through Dean's Grange, lovely walk home if it's a nice night and not too long if it's a rainy one.

Is that reliable? The Finnegans bus.

Id go with Saturday night heading out the local about 8 then making your way into Town (Dublin city) for 10 ,
Sundays are good but only get out on a Sunday once in a blue moon, Fridays are brutal
