I was just watching Luther for the first time, which has been absolutely fantastic so far. I habitually change when I see the next-time-on thing come up, but in this case I didnt because I happened to have caught the next episode in the series a few days ago. It literally gave away everything important that happens in that episode! Theres a bit of a shocking revelation that is actually shown in unambiguous detail in the preview of the previous ep! I could not believe my eyes.

Fuppin hate thes next-time-on things, do not see the point. Either you enjoyed the episode enough to keep watching or you didnt. How short are peoples attention spans that they have to give away the next storyline to keep people coming back...?

So anyway, is there another show thats extremely bad for this? Or has anyone been badly caught out by these yokes before?

The Walking Dead is awful for it, as soon as the episode finished I'd turn off before the "next time on AMC's The Walking Dead.." part started.

They are all unrelentingly bad, I just hit mute and avert my gaze for a moment if its live or hit ff "off tape".

I remember I always used to close my eyes for the 30 seconds just after the Battlestar Galactica title sequence as the montage had a habit of giving away stuff in the episode that spoiled it on a few occasions!

Homeland was bad. At the start of the episode they had "Last week on Homeland". Then opening theme. Then "coming up in this episode". Yeah, I know, you're about to watch it, why the hell do you need a summary of what you haven't watched yet!
Then, at the end, it's "next week on Homeland..."

Mad Men this year was the best. Blatant 2 fingers to execs. Gave away nothing. If I recall there was one where there was 5 separate sighs in a row

Not entirely true, Buster and "loose seal" spring to mind!

I've been caught a few times by the "Previously on..." segment on some shows. I try to skip past them if I can. Once or twice I've seen characters appearing in it who haven't been on the show for weeks and you can sense exactly 1what's going to happen.

I never, ever watch the "Next time on..." parts though. You're looking for trouble if you do.

The Bible. I mean, what's the point in waiting around for the Apocalypse when you already know exactly how it'll play out?

I remember threads disecting the 30s previews of Lost each week. They were mainly misleading.

What killed me about "previously on" for homeland is that it would cut back to a character who had not featured in a couple of episodes or some random event and youd just know that it was going to play an important part in this episode. I avoid them at all costs now
