Paul Williams talks about his recent scoop on the Anglo Tapes (well, it makes a change from Gangland Drug Pushers with silly nicknames)

Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern performs with her band Sadie and the Hotheads,

Big haired former pop starlet Donal Skehan will be telling us who his food heroes are and plugging his show Kitchen Hero: Home Cooked. (We have had too many chefs on this show - please, Miriam lets not have any more :()

    cookery-demo-donal-skehan-34.jpeg

Fionnuala Flanagan is in a new fillum “Life’s a Breeze” so she is here to plug that

WARNING: The trailer features Pat Shortt, Joe Duffy and Ryan Tubridy.

Killian Donnelly will be telling us how he landed the lead role in stage production of The Commitments, and he will be performing one of the hit songs from the show.

I've no idea about the musical, but the movie version is a classic, here's the trailer

Miriam will be expecting you at 9.40pm

Aside of course from Michael Murphy and Terry O'Sullivan, last week's opener was rather shambolic.

Will this episode be better or worse? We'll just have to watch it to find out...

Elizabeth McGovern ought to be fairly entertaining, anyway.

Decent lineup compared to last week. Hope McWilliams has tapes of politicians or regulators talking with Anglo.

I've been extremely critical in the past of Paul Williams and his brand of sensationalist crime reporting but I believe that he deserves huge credit for breaking the Anglo Tapes story. He has actually done us the State some service.

It's good that these Anglo executives have been exposed for what they are  I doubt any of them will have to face any consequences but I get some satisfaction knowing that their trips to the golf club or their favourite Michelin Star restaurant might be a slightly more uncomfortable experience for them now that the tapes are out there.

Love how within four posts the topic of conversation has gone completely away from the thread title after 4 posts, similar attention spans required to watch this absolute muck.

Paul Williams is a guest on tonight's show and he will be discussing the Anglo Tapes so my post is valid and on topic ;)

I hope Miriam's chat with Paul Williams about the Anglo Tapes goes a little better than Vincent Browne and Fionnan Sheehan's debacle during the week. The pair of them need to sit down for a pint and sort out their grievances.

Yeah Miriam has a reputation for being confrontational alright.. Remember that row she had with some Z-grade RTE star she met in the canteen last season..

Miriam: "But you're brilliant, you really are"
Guest: "Ah, jays, I'm not really Miriam".
Miriam: "But you really are .. genuinely"..
Guest: "Ah I'm not brilliant, Miriam, though I appreciate you saying it"
Miram: "You ARE really really fantastic (and brilliant) ... "

It's lucky they dont keep guns in the studio..

I love my life every minute of every day. .. i really do I swear. . .

But just 2 mins if that happy chappy skeahan, cooking tasty treats for all his cool friends listening to cool music while motoring around in an ironic vwvan surfing and hill walking just makes me rock backwards and forwards screaming and sobbing that I'm so old and past it.

Really sickening that his recipes really work out quite well . Once I ignore the chorizo ones.

I'm just jealous Donal you da man

Has he ever actually run a restaurant or headed a kitchen? You get the impression that he is just a little hipster relative of someone in RTE and he was enrolled on a 6-week cookery course for the sake of being a TV chef. The show he is on is a carbon copy of Jamie Oliver's original show.

He seems very decent I have to say its all just a bit contrived to a jaded old me .

A lad shipping in 1 million worth of cannabis from Spain does far less harm to the country than these guys defrauding the central bank with requests for capital for a bank they knew was finished.

This stringing it along over a number of days is annoying me- its getting too tabloid now and it's taking away or distracting from the main point.
Yes Paul. It was I that said it was getting "too tabloidy".

Was the Gathering just done because of 2013 being unlucky like the way they changed the car plates to 131 and 132?

Is it just me or does anyone else think that being able to see the audience make this show really awkward or something? Or maybe it's just the show itself is awkward. Even Miriam looks uncomfortable perched on the edge of the couch.

Show awkward IMO. She had a good show last week but this one's not great at all.
