    Hi,
I got the jobseeker's benefits for a few days now like I have been made redundancy by my employer. On the form I received from the department of Social Protection, they said I can pretend up to 234 days for this benefit.
    The questions are:

1)Let's consider I got a new job soon and for any reasons, my new employer ends up my contract after 2 weeks, for example, can I still have after that the jobseeker's benefits?

2)Let's consider I got a new job soon and for any reasons, the job is not as i taught it was and I leave the company, can I still have after that the jobseeker's benefits?

Thank you and happy week end :-)

Yes, your job seekers benefit application will have to be resumited though which is the only thing.

You can be deducted for up to 9 weeks(usually will be 9 weeks) for leaving a job even if you did not like the job. Your application for job seekeers benifit will probably be scrapped as well and will only get job seekers allowance. Again the application will have to be resubmitted.

    Thank you for the reply.
    Let's consider the 2nd possibility.
In the case if I leave the company, during these 9 weeks,I can pretend to the jobseeker's allowance if I did understand.
I have no clue about this procedure as I have never been in the situation to claim the jobseeker's benefits or allowance before that.
Does it take a long to claim the jobseeker's allowance?

It can take a bit longer to get job seekers allowance as job seekers benfit is not means tested and usually get the job seekers benfit applications done first. I don't understand what you mean if you leave your job within the 9 weeks? You can't be on job seekers allowance or job seekers benfit if your working.

It doesn't matter if your working 2 weeks, 9 weeks or 2 years, if you quit your job without any valid reason you will only get job seekers allowance and your dole can be cut for up to nine weeks

Sorry if i haven't been clear enough.
I mean if I start a new job on Monday and leave, for example, the company on Friday for any reasons.
So,I will go to the department of social Protection claim for the jobseeker's allowance.
From this day when I claim for jobseeker's allowance, how many days does it take to get paid with the jobseeker allowance?

It depends on where your from. Sometimes a month, sometimes six months till its properly through.

But you can go to your local social welfare officer and she can set it up in the post office for you to collect until its properly through.

If you leave your job and have a proper reason, medical reason, family commitment etc then you probably will get job seekers benfit.

It's worth pointing out that you may not get much, or even any, JSA. If you have significant savings or a spouse or other earners in the household, all will be counted as your means and subtracted from the amount of JSA you receive. It's not pretty.

Thank you for these information, I can still get something by going to the local social officer
I don't have any savings, house, spouse or kids, just me and me :-)

You can be disqualified from getting Jobseekers Allowance for up to 9 weeks if you decide to leave a job without just cause. See below. And same applies to Jobseekers Benefit.

    Disqualification from Jobseeker's Allowance
You may be disqualified from getting Jobseeker's Allowance for 9 weeks if you:

Left work voluntarily and without just cause
    Lost your job through misconduct
Refused an offer of suitable alternative employment or suitable training
Suitable employment does not include employment in a job that is vacant because of a trade dispute. In addition, the employment must be suitable, having regard to your age, sex, physique, education, normal occupation, where you live, rate of pay offered and your family circumstances.
