Has anybody on here got a Subaru Legacy B4 or Legacy GT E-tune. I have always wanted to get one. It would be a weekend car. I am not bothered by fuel consumption as I know they are thirsty. What should I look for when buying one and peoples general opinions on them.

    Over to Subaru World....www.isdc.ie

Lads there should know, heard the turbos can be a bit temperamental.

If there minded, they'll be fine.

My mate bought a Mk. 3 B4 twin turbo a while back and it was super quick, porsche 911 quick :). Great fun while it lasted. He had it only three months though and then the big ends went. Previous owner had it mapped far too aggressively. Don't know how you could check for that unless you'd driven one before. I suppose if you do buy it and you feel it's punching above it's weight it could be worth getting checked. Aside from the usual look out for uneven tyre wear. Could indicate a suspension problem especially if it's bad on the rear wheels. Tyres and brakes are expensive too. Have a look on a subaru forum for more things to look out for.

Otherwise a great car. I'd love one myself. Get one with air con, full leather seats and a decent sound system. Very comfortable.
