I've build a playhouse (slightly larger and more robust than a standard kids playhouse), and was wondering if I should roof it with asphalt shingles or slates? It is 12 x 8ft and I've put a vaulted ceiling in it (with plywood collars around the 5x2 rafters for support) and am wondering how best to roof it? I appreciate…

I appreciate that I'm not going to get a full engineering spec answer given that nobody has inspected it, but was wondering which would be heavier on the roof and which would be most suited to the construction?
