allergic thinitis

This is my diagnosis. I have no idea what my allergies are as blood tests came back negative. I'm sick every couple weeks with severe pain around my nose and head, often triggering migraines which lead to vomiting.

Had the camera up there, he just diagnosed rhinitis and gave me an inhaler to use short term. I end up on antibiotics about twice a year for infections, and so far the only triggers I've worked out are alcohol and changes in the weather.

Anyone out there in the same boat? If there was some kind of surgery I could have is gladly go for it although any doctor I've spoken to has only ever given me a very short term cure.

Getting quite fed up tbh. This is all year round btw, haven't yet figured out if its a little worse in the summer as it is so frequent.

I have this but not as bad you do. My blood tests showed I was very sensitive to dust. The only thing that keeps it in check for me is using a sinus rinse religiously (and minimising dust of course but can only control my own environment). I had a very bad sinus infection last October and it was the only thing that helped with drainage and clearing things out. Sudafed tablets also help. I try to avoid antibiotics as I find it doesn't speed up the infection clearing at all for me. Can't advise on anything else as things are manageable now. For me, it's worse in the winter with central heating and moving from hot and cold.

Yeah himself would occasionally suffer (blames me for contaminating him although I'm not sure if there's any truth to that!) and he swears by the sinus rinse. I've tried it a few times but I've been so bunged up I couldn't actually do it. Would you do it when you feel fine also?

Sudafed helps for me too but i don't like how frequently I need to take it.

Yeah I use it all the time, I have to. Last year I wasn't diligent about it and got cellulitis inside my nose from rubbing my nose as it was so itchy. It was so swollen and painful, I couldn't do it again and had to do something about it so use it all the time now (I did take antibiotics for that as the pain was almost unbearable). I hear ya about the sudafed. I don't take near as much as I used to, I think it loses its effectiveness the more you use it. But when you're in a bad way it does help. If you're really blocked you're not supposed to "force" the sinus rinse. I have and it hurts :o. I really think doing it regularly is the way to go. I didn't even think it would work when the doctor told me to try it because it seemed so basic or something but its really helped me a lot.
