Have mobile home behind house and it is about 3 metres opposite our house sky sat dish.
Is there some way that I could t-off from the dish to he mob home?

No you can't T-off, it would work to some extent but give you problems. Thing to do is buy a twin lnb, or a quad if it's a Sky dish, and connect the receiver in the mobile to a spare output on that. Then you will have full independent control of both receivers. Another thing to consider is that both receivers really must be connected to the same electrical supply, i.e. from the same meter. It will save you getting (potentially) electrocuted.

What sort of Sky box(es) do you have set up at the moment. If it is a recording (+) box and you have only 1 box in use then it is likely your dish has 4 connections already, with only two in use. In this case you can connect a new cable to one of the two free connections.

However if you have a non recording box, or lots of boxes your dish may onyl have one connection, or 4 but all used up.

    Make sense?

Thanks for replies guys.I have connected elec in to my house so that is all of the same meter so that should be ok safety wise,Im hoping.

I have a sky plus box in the home sitting room and an eye in the bedroom.
Thing is that the telly might never be used but I would still like to have basic stations connected to it if somebody is staying over so would like to do it as cheap as possible.

If you only have one box, then your dish should have two spare connections on it. If you run satellite cable from the dish to the mobile home, then you would need a satellite receiver for the TV in the mobile home. Without a subscription to Sky you cannot get the Irish channels on a satellite receiver.

Thanks ZG,would any old sat receiver do(even an old sky standard one)?
Would not mind so much missing the Irish stations as long as visitors could view something besides the kids dvds.

As long as it is a digital box. An old Sky analogue box won't work.
