    Hi,
I'm in the process of upgrading to a carbon fibre bike and have so far looked at the Planet X SL Pro Carbon with Sram Rival spec and a Ridley Orion with 105 spec. Planet X is €200 cheaper but wondering which is the better bike or if there are any better options out there for around the €1500 mark.

    Thanks in advance.

There was a carbon bike on wiggle that I posted in bargain Alerts for 1250 euro. You should have a look at it too

I've a 2011 Wilier Izoard XP. Might be above your budget @ ~€1700 but I got mine in 2011 for €1550 with a slightly lower spec.
