Sorry if there is a thread on this already but I am wondering other than the supports stated on the accesscollege.ie website, what does being accepted through the HEAR application mean in terms of points?

If you apply for a course for 450 points are there a certain amount knocked off this or is it all course dependant?

I have searched everywhere for information and emailed the college but have heard nothing back yet

    I would appreciate any information

    Thanks

The way it was explained to me while inquiring about it for my sister is that when you apply through HEAR and you meet the specific criteria required you will have points deducted from the course you are applying for. Now the deductions are apparently based on the available HEAR places on the specific course and it's popularity. I was inquiring about nursing and it was suggested that the largest point deduction would be about 20ish.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will clear it up but that's a general outline at least.
